Here's my newest drawing! I read the quote in Rabih Alameddine's The Angel of History and just wanted to draw something based on it. The book is beautifully written, but it packs a wallop (it's about a gay man who's checked himself into a psychiatric hospital; he's lived through all kinds of things, including the AIDS crisis and is not doing well). I have tried to hide the image behind a cut so anyone who dislikes snakes can avoid it showing up in their feed.

It was a unique experience! I was really impressed with the writing style (I drew a drawing of a quote for goodness sake), but it could be an overwhelming story. I wish his community got emphasized a bit more; I know he was depressed, but he did have people in his community.
